Korea national team goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu is expected to join Saudi Arabia's Al Shabab.
Nikkan Sports, a Japanese sports newspaper, said, "It is likely that Kashiwa Reysol goalkeeper Kim Seung-gyu will transfer to Saudi Arabia's first division Al Shabab."
Reportedly, Seung-gyu Kim received an offer from Al Shabab. Negotiations are currently in the final stages, he said, and he intends to move to Saudi Arabia.
Seung-gyu Kim has played 64 matches for the Korean national team so far.
Kim Seung-gyu, who made his professional debut with Ulsan Hyundai in the K-League in 2008, played eight seasons in Ulsan until 2015 before moving to Japan's J1 League Vissel Kobe in 2016. Afterwards, he returned to the K-League on a three-and-a-half year contract with Ulsan in July 2019, but moved to Kashiwa in January 2020 after half a year.
Kim Seung-gyu played 13 J1 league matches for Kashiwa this season, but his last appearance was against Gamba Osaka on the 14th of last month.
Al Shabab is a team based in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. A very strong team that has won the Saudi League 6 times.
